Fire Chief Resigns, New Leader Expected to Be Unveiled Soon
A new leader for the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Co. was expected to be chosen Friday, but the department has yet to release information on the new leadership.

The chief of the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Co. has resigned from the department.
A veteran of the department for 31 years, Pete Campbell resigned recently without offering any explanation, according to a story in the Daily Herald.
Typically, the fire company holds elections among the volunteers in April, but a vote was expected Friday, according to the story, which said Campbell was working with the Interim Chief Jeff Buccola on the transition.

A statement from the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Co. is said to be forthcoming as to the future leadership of the organization, said Craig Eldridge, the public inforation officer with the volunteer fire company. No statement was released as of Sunday evening.
