Insula Aesthetics Hopes To Expand On Duane Street
The plan commission will consider a special use permit request to allow the spa to extend its footprint on Duane Street.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — At its June 26 meeting, he Glen Ellyn Plan Commission will consider a special use permit request to allow Insula Aesthetics to expand its footprint on Duane Street's Central Retail Core Subdistrict.
Insula Aesthetics currently occupies a space at 507 Duane, which was granted a special use permit in 2022. The petitioner is proposing a 6,098 square foot spa facility to be located at 511 Duane St., village documents show. Currently zoned for retail use, the spot was once home to Hazelry, which closed in late May.
Ashley Herman, founder of Insula Aesthetics, told village officials she is looking to add treatment rooms to the space at 511 Duane due to an increase in clientele. The space will also help accommodate training, as Insula Aesthetics is set to serve as a MAX Studio Popup Training Center for a company called Ultherapy.
