Lake Ellyn Not Suitable For Ice Skating This Season
The lake has yet to reach the eight-inch ice thickness required for safe skating; warmer temperatures have also diminished the ice.
To date, the 2020-2021 winter has not provided favorable conditions for outdoor ice skating. Unfortunately, Lake Ellyn has yet to reach the 8-inch ice thickness required for safe skating and periods of warmer temperatures (e.g., above freezing) and snowfalls have diminished the ice at Lake Ellyn and the other locations.
