No Arrest After After Bank Robbery, School Lockdown: Lombard Officials
Police questioned a person of interest, who was cleared of involvement.
LOMBARD, IL — Police continue to investigate an armed bank robbery that took place on Wednesday afternoon at a Lombard Chase bank branch, village officials said.
A village spokesperson confirmed that the bank at the intersection of East Roosevelt Road and Highland Avenue had been robbed, but said that due to the ongoing investigation, no further information was available.
Just before 6:30 p.m., officials said based on witness descriptions of a suspect and vehicle, police and the FBI were able to locate and interview a person of interest. However, that person has been cleared of involvement in the robbery, according to the village.

The FBI confirmed that they responded to the call of the robbery but said that no further information was available as of late Wednesday afternoon.
The village said earlier on Wednesday that Lombard Police had cleared the area of the 500 block of South Finley Avenue due to police activity. Village officials said that out of an abundance of caution, Lombard Police notified officials from Madison Elementary and College Preparatory School of America schools about the activity, and the schools were temporarily placed on soft lockdown, the village said.

A village spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing and police are following up on leads. Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to contact the Lombard Police Department.
