New Principal Named For Churchill Elementary School
Christine Ahrens will start her appointment as the Churchill Elementary School Principal July 1.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — A new principal has been named to take the helm at Churchill Elementary School. At its April 21 meeting, Glen Ellyn School District 41 approved the appointment of Christine Ahrens.
Ahrens comes to District 41 from Norridge School District 80, where she currently serves as the assistant principal at John V. Leigh School. Prior to that, Ahrens taught at Mount Prospect School District, where she also served as principal of ESY for grades K through 8.
She has a bachelors degree in elementary education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a master’s degree in principal preparation from Concordia University and a master’s degree in bilingual and bicultural education from DePaul University.

"I am honored to join the District 41 community as the next Principal of Churchill School. I am excited to work alongside such a dedicated team of educators, students, and families,” Ahrens said in a statement.
She added, “With a strong partnership between the school, families, and community we will continue to create an environment that facilitates both academic and social and emotional learning and achievement through innovative and collaborative methods. I am thrilled to embark on this journey together filled with new opportunities to become the best we can all be."
