Over $4,400 Raised By Glow In The Park Lantern Walk

The annual event was held Sept. 15 at Lake Ellyn Park.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — More than $4,400 was raised at the Glow in the Park Lantern Walk in Glen Ellyn to benefit Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital. The event was held Sept. 15 at Lake Ellyn Park.

In addition to lantern-making and a procession around Lake Ellyn, attendees enjoyed live music, an obstacle course, face painting and other family-friendly activities. Superhero characters, princesses and ice cream rounded out the fun.

“We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support from our community that made the Glow in the Park Lantern Walk such a success,” Courtney O'Kray, Superintendent of Marketing & Communications at the Glen Ellyn Park District said in a statement.

The $4,406 that was raised will be used to help aid the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Since 2017, the park district's Glow in the Park Lantern Walk has donated more than $25,000 to support the NICU.
