GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn's Plan Commission will hold a public hearing Jan. 23 to discuss a proposed affordable housing development for the part of the former Roosevelt Road hotel properties site. The proposal, presented by Full Circle Communities (FCC), includes 42 units of multi-family housing at 640 Taft Ave that would be prioritized for residents or families whose median household income is 80 percent or less of the median household income in the area.

The three parcels of land were sold to FCC for $1.75 million in early 2024. Per the agreement between FCC and the Village of Glen Ellyn, 30 percent of the units will be dedicated to providing permanent housing for disabled residents, with access to supportive services.

In November 2024, the village's Architectural Appearance Commission gave a unanimous recommendation to the proposal's facade, elevation and outside appearance, with conditions that include to improve the current landscaping plan and allow options for solar paneling on the roof.
