GLEN ELLYN, IL — Streets and crosswalks are set to reopen as Glen Ellyn wraps the current phase of its downtown streetscape project.

It's estimated that Main Street and Prospect Avenue will be open to traffic as of Monday, Oct. 21. Officials anticipate the other downtown crosswalks involved in the project will be open as of Tuesday, when crews will set the last brick pavers in crosswalks.

Workers began crosswalk and utility maintenance downtown in late winter of 2024. Half of each crosswalk was closed at a time, allowing for one-way traffic to continue and helping crews to expedite completion.
