Students' 'Senior Assassin' Game Prompts Warning From Glen Ellyn Cops
Glen Ellyn Police are encouraging local students to find a "safer form of entertainment" to the popular water gun game.
GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn police are urging local high school students to find an alternative to the popular "Senior Assassin" water gun game.
According to police, the game, which is played by students throughout the United States, involves students with squirt guns who hide out and chase each other, with the objective of squirting water at other students.
A news release from the Glen Ellyn Police Department said "[s]ome incident have occurred outside of Glen Ellyn, where participants have used realistic-looking water guns." They caution that "[t]he use of realistic-looking toy guns can lead to unintended consequences."

Police say the game, while not illegal, is not condoned by Glenbard West High School or the Glen Ellyn Police Department. Glenbard West prohibits students from playing "Senior Assassin" on school grounds.
Parents are also encouraged by police to talk to their children about the game's "potential risks," the news release said.

Police emphasized, "Actions of participants could create a preventable incident resulting in potential criminal and/or ordinance violation charges."
