Sunset Pool Upgrades ' On Track' For Memorial Day Opening

GLEN ELLYN, IL — After closing early last season to accommodate upgrades, Sunset Pool is "on track" to open Memorial Day, per a recent update from the Glen Ellyn Park District.

The update shared that most of the renovations to the interior pool house are complete. These include the addition of two family restrooms and a first aid room. Visitors will also be able to enter the pool area immediately after they complete check-in.

Work is also progressing on a new wading pool for children. Upgrades to the building that houses the wading pool's pump equipment has already wrapped. Crews are expected to pour the pool's concrete sometime in March.

Also set to be finished in March are updates to Sunset Pool's concession area, which will bring Sunset Slush and Sunset Shakes this season.

Guests will also be able to enjoy new slide towers that are set to be installed before the end of March.

The upgrades come after residents voted in 2022 in favor of a $15.9 million bond referendum to fund upgrades to Sunset Pool and other facilities.
