Today on Moms Talk we're addressing the issue of parenting and social networking. Kids these days share information so quickly and freely that it can boggle a parent's mind who remembers passing notes in class as the only social networking they used to do.
Parents worry about online bullying and protecting their children from strangers—and from themselves at times as well. At the same time, parents are joining social networking sites too.

- What are the rules governing use of social networking sites in your home? How did you come up with them?
- If you are a parent who is also on a site like Facebook, do you "friend" your children? Do you Facebook snoop on them? Why or why not? (if you're snooping and dont want your child to know, email matthew@patch.com with your thoughts and I'll post them for you).
- Kids need and deserve privacy, don't they? Where do you draw the line?
- What are your top concerns with your kids being on sites like Facebook?
- At what age (if there is one) do you stop being concerned and let them live their own lives? 16? 18? 45?
- For the kids: How do you feel about your parent's concerns about social networking and how do you feel about Mom and Dad joining Facebook?
