Two Generations Welcome Fall with Chalk Art

Youth from Rawda Academy and seniors from Churchill Place Memory Care spent the day decorating the sidewalks

A group of elementary students became artists for the day while helping a Glen Ellyn memory care community usher in Autumn. Churchill Place, an Anthem Memory Care community, welcomed students from Rawda Academy for a day of intergenerational connection. Armed with flowers, the youth added bright and colorful chalk art to the community’s sidewalk.

“This intergenerational experience was meaningful to both sides.” Said Ismael Lagunes, life engagement director for Churchill Place. For the residents, it lifted their spirits and sparked their creativity. It was a great opportunity for the youth to connect with the older generation and practice empathy and respect.”

Churchill Place is located at190 Geneva Rd., Glen Ellyn.
