Village Addresses Price Hike On September Water Bills

"During summer months, usage can increase from activities like filling pools, washing cars, power washing, using sprinklers and lawn care."

During the month of September, the Village of Glen Ellyn typically receives a number of phone calls from residents over their concerns of a higher water service bill. The service bills, mailed to Village residents in early September, represent usage for June 15 to July 15 or for July 1 to August 1, depending on the resident’s location in the Village.

The Village wants to remind residents that they may be seeing a higher water service bill due to a number of reasons. This year was the 14th warmest July on record. Temperatures for July were above normal and had 10 days at or above 90 degrees based upon data collected by the Village Links Golf Course.
