Village Approves Agreement For More Affordable Housing On Roosevelt
The $1.75 million agreement would bring affordable housing and housing for disabled residents to the Roosevelt Road Corridor.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn trustees recently approved a purchase and sale agreement for part of the Roosevelt Road hotel properties. The $1.75 million agreement between Full Circle Communities (FCC) would bring affordable housing and housing for disabled residents to the Roosevelt Road Corridor.
In early 2022, the Village of Glen Ellyn inked a $2.85 million deal to buy the two hotel sites on Roosevelt Road, spanning 2.2 acres and six parcels of land.
The recent agreement with FCC would allot the developer three parcels at 640 Taft Ave. Per the agreement, as many as 42 living places would be built to house residents or families whose median household income is 80 percent or less of the median household income in the area.

Additionally, village documents show that the agreement also calls for FCC to set aside 30 percent of the units to permanently house disabled residents with access to supportive services.
Per village records, the development concept would include a three-story housing complex, an outdoor area and 45 parking spots.

“What we are contemplating is not only transformational, it’s generational,” Village President Mark Senak said in a statement.
He added, "Families will now have a chance to stay close to each other. Young adults who would have been forced to move miles away to find a place to live will now have a chance to stay in the community where their family and friends live, where they grew up, where they go to school, and where many of them work."
