The Village of Glen Ellyn is honoring its 2012 State Champions from Glenbard West High School and Glenbard South High School by flying the flags of both schools at the downtown Civic Center, now through Dec. 3.
Glen Ellyn athletes have had an extraordinary year at the IHSA state level:
- Glenbard West: Class 7A Football Team Champions
- Glenbard South: Class 2A Softball Team Champions
- Glenbard West: Alex Diab, Gymnastics All-Around Individual Champion
- Glenbard South: Boys Track, THREE State Championship medals
- Glenbard West: Madeline Perez, Cross Country Girls Class 3A Champion
- Glenbard South: John Wold, Cross Country Boys Class 2A Champion
The Village encourages all its champions, students and residents to stop downtown and view, for the first time ever, the colors of both of its high schools hanging high in tribute to these outstanding athletic accomplishments.
