Residents, homeowners and builders nominated those who help preserve the village's historic character.

Glen Ellyn residents nominated projects for the Historic Preservation Commission Awards Program and the recipients of this year’s awards were acknowledged at the July 25 Village Board Meeting.
Nominations were accepted through April 30 for projects of special interest, residential (single-family and multi-family), commercial and institutional buildings, according to information posted on the village's website.
The Historic Preservation awards honors projects in four categories: Restoration of the Year, Remodeling Project of the Year (Residential and Commercial), Streetscape Compatibility, and Architectural Details. Winners received a certificate and a yarn sign to exhibit the award.
