The expanded parking supply follows recommendations from the Village's downtown parking study.

GLENVIEW, IL — With the revitalization of Downtown Glenview in full swing, residents and visitors need parking more than ever. According to the Village of Glenview, at least 150 new parking spots have opened in just the last few weeks.

Those parking spots can be found at a newly opened 60-stall parking lot at the former Patio Shops site (1755 River Drive), as well as from a new agreement with Colonial Court (1775 Glenview Road) to provide access to 79 spaces during evenings and weekends, and 20 new parking spots at the commuter lot near Depot and Grove.

Officials expect to add another 60 parking spaces next year to an additional commuter lot near Depot and Grove, bringing the total increase to more than 200 new spots throughout Downtown Glenview.

The Village reminds residents and visitors that all commuter parking lots are open to the public after 11 a.m. on weekdays and are open all day on weekends and holidays, which officials say provide additional flexibility beyond traditional visitor parking areas.
