$30K Worth of Appliances Stolen in Burglary

The following reports were provided by the Glenview police department.

Between July 2 and 4, someone entered a home being renovated on the 400 block of Country Lane and stole several kitchen appliances, three air conditioning units and three furnaces, according to police. The estimated loss is more than $30,000.00, police say.

On July 2, a resident on the 1300 block of East Lake Avenue reported entry was made to their home by forcing open a door, according to police. A laptop computer worth $1,800.00 was taken, police say. 

That day, a resident on the 3300 block of Winnetka Avenue reported two men came to his door and explained they were working on a problem with the water in the area and needed to check the water in the resident's house, according to police. While in the house, the men spoke on cell phones in a foreign language, according to the report. After the men left, the homeowner realized a third person had been in his house, drawers in a bedroom were ransacked and two watches were taken, according to police. Estimated loss is about $750.00.

On July 7, a resident on the 500 block of Rio Vista Road arrived home to a burglary in progress, according to police. Offenders entered and stole $10000.00 worth of jewelry and $4000.00 in currency, then fled north when the homeowner arrived, police say.
