Glenview Gets Satellite Healthcare In-Center Dialysis Clinic

Satellite Healthcare, one of the nation's first and leading not for profit providers of kidney dialysis services and a major sponsor of kidney research, is pleased to announce the opening of a Satellite Healthcare location in Glenview.

The dialysis center will be Satellite Healthcare’s first in-center clinic in Illinois, preceded by Well Bound of Evanston, an industry leading home-dialysis center, which opened in 2007. Satellite Healthcare has more than 40 in-center locations and 18 home-dialysis centers nationwide, servicing more than 5,000 patients coast-to-coast.

Approximately twenty million Americans have CKD, with an additional 20 million at increased risk. African-Americans, Latinos, Pacific Islanders, American Indians and seniors are at an increased risk for the disease.

According to the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, 73 percent of patients they’ve screened in the last eight years for diabetes, obesity, high blood sugar, and other factors that lead to of kidney disease, have had abnormal results.
