Annual Food Drive 'Ensures No Neighbor Goes Without Nutritious Food' In Glenview
The Glenview Chamber's Young Professionals Group organizes the summer food drive to benefit the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

GLENVIEW, IL — Once again, the Glenview Chamber of Commerce's Young Professionals Group is ready to step up big time for those locally needing nutritious food at this time of year. The annual summer food drive, scheduled for August through September, will help the Northfield Township Food Pantry, which serves more than 1,000 local families in Glenview, Northbrook and Northfield.
"As Northfield Township celebrates 175 years of serving our community, we're reminded how vital partnerships like this are," said Shiva Mohsenzadeh, Northfield Township supervisor. "The Glenview Chamber's Young Professionals Group continues to show up with heart, helping us ensure no neighbor goes without nutritious food. We’re truly thankful for their support."
According to organizers, the food supply in the pantry dips in the summer months due to residents traveling and just enjoying time off. The issue lies in that schools are closed, which means many children are at risk of missing meals, as they no longer have access to subsidized breakfasts or lunches.

Friends and neighbors can contribute food at several business locations across the Village, and public institutions, such as the library. A full list of participating businesses is available on the Chamber’s website.
The Chamber is asking participating businesses to collect five brown grocery bags or one large box with items like cereal, pasta, canned veggies and fruits and drop off at the pantry during business hours or in the collections boxes outside the building during non-business hours.
