Car Seen Throwing Empty Stolen Packages Around Neighborhood: Glenview Police Blotter
A resident saw the car traveling slowly throughout the neighborhood, according to police.
GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Slawomir Zajac, 57, of the 4500 block of N. Sheridan Road, Chicago, had a warrant out of Lake County for failure to appear, and was arrested at 9:27 p.m. Dec. 12, in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was taken to the Lake County Jail.

- Olan Bruyere, 26, of the 500 block of W. Roscoe Street, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, speeding, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Dec. 13, in the 300 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 27, 2026.
- Jesus Vazquez-Yepez, 22, of the 600 block of W. Avilon Avenue, Round Lake, is accused of DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol with a BAC of .08 or more, no insurance, and was arrested at 4:44 a.m. Dec. 14, in the 3000 block of Landwehr Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 30, 2026.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Ethan Cohen, 22, of the 100 block of Rutgers Court, Glenview, is accused of disorderly conduct, and was arrested at 1:37 a.m. Dec. 15 The arrest followed several 911 call investigations, according to police. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 12, 2026.
IDENTITY THEFT
Charles McNinch, 55, of Hammond, Indiana, is accused of identity theft, and was arrested in Marshall County, Indiana, on a Glenview arrest warrant.
BATTERY
Dane J. Mathew, 22, of the 600 block of Huber Lane, Glenview, is accused of aggravated battery, unlawful restraint, criminal damage to property, domestic battery, and was arrested at 10:13 a.m. Dec. 8, at the Glenview police department.

INCIDENTS
THEFT
A resident called police at 9:54 p.m. Dec. 9, to report seeing someone in a vehicle throwing empty packages out the window in the neighborhood of Somerset and East Lake, and driving slowly through the neighborhood. The owners said the packages had been removed from their addresses after delivery.
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
A citizen reported that someone had stolen the catalytic converter from his vehicle while it was parked in the 3900 block of Glenview Road during the overnight hours of Dec. 9.
IDENTITY THEFT
- A business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road reported at 2:54 p.m. Dec. 11, someone had presented a fraudulent driver’s license, purporting to be a customer. The person had attempted to cash a check, but was not successful.
- A resident of the 1600 block of Annapolis Drive reported at 3:51 p.m. Dec. 12, owning several businesses throughout the North Shore area. They told police a former employee used other employees’ information to receive checks. Total loss is $67,000.
- A Northbrook resident reported at 10:39 a.m. Dec. 13, someone had stolen around $46,000 from a family member’s bank account. Several unauthorized checks were cashed in various amounts from September to now.
FLEEING/ELUDING POLICE
Police stopped a vehicle with no license plate at 11:09 p.m. Dec. 12, in the 1300 block of East Lake Avenue. The officer exited their squad car and began to approach the vehicle. The vehicle then took off from the officer at a high rate of speed. The officer did not pursue the vehicle. Around 10 minutes later, the same vehicle was seen near East Lake Avenue and Waukegan Road traveling over 100 mph and then left the area again.
ATTEMPTED COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
An employee of a business in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 2:10 p.m. Dec. 13, two people had attempted to break the glass entrance door with a possible brick. Video surveillance showed two suspects arrive at 4:36 a.m. Dec. 12, in a blue colored minivan. They threw the brick multiple times at the glass, but it would not break. The suspects got back in the van and left the area.
