Applications Being Accepted For 2026 Citizens Police Academy In Glenview

Sessions include talks on patrol functions, dispatch operations, traffic issues, investigations, crime lab operations, and more.

GLENVIEW, IL — For residents who've always wondered what it's like to be a police officer, the Citizens Police Academy might be a good option. Applications are being accepted through Jan. 23.

A group of up to 20 students can participate in 10 informational sessions touching on patrol functions, dispatch operations, traffic issues, investigations, crime lab operations, community relations and police training, according to the Glenview Police Department.

CPA is presented at no cost to participants and will begin on Thursday, Feb. 19. The group will meet weekly on Thursday nights through April 30. Sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 2500 East Lake Avenue.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside or own a business in Glenview. Applications are can be found online at glenview.il.us/cpa. To apply for the Citizens Police Academy, click here.
