GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Ismael Roman, 47, of the 5300 block of S. Damen Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 11:07 p.m. June 13, following a traffic stop in the 3900 block of Willow Road. He was released and assigned a court date of July 9.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • A Burr Oak Drive resident reported at 11:24 a.m. June 10, someone had accessed their bank account and had completed 89 transactions, totaling around $200,000, since April 21.
  • A Northbrook resident reported at 5:12 p.m. June 12, riding an electric scooter to a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road and leaning it against the brick wall unsecured at 4 p.m. while they shopped inside. When they returned 45 to 60 minutes later, it was missing. Total loss is $500.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

A Glenview Road resident called police at 2:15 p.m. June 10, to report receiving a phone call from a "private" number. The caller told them that they had their family member and would kill them if they did not do what they said. They knew their address and gave the location. The resident hung up and spoke with her granddaughter, who verified she was ok and told her it was a scam.

BATTERY

A Glenview resident reported being battered at 11:50 p.m. June 11, while at a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road. They said they argued with employees and were battered while being escorted out of the business. All employees stated the resident was yelling and causing a disturbance. Minor injuries reported. The resident was given a trespass notice not to return.

TRESPASS WARNING

Employees of a business in the 2100 block of Willow Road reported at 11:45 a.m. June 12, a customer keeps coming into the business and asking for extra items but does not want to pay for them. They argue with the staff until they appease the request. This has been an ongoing issue. At the request of the restaurant, the customer was given a trespass warning not to return.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A resident of the 1100 block of Castilian Court reported at 4:59 p.m. June 12, an ongoing issue with a neighbor, where they are repeatedly harassed by them when they cross paths in the building, shouting unknown words and not making sense. Officers spoke with the neighbor, who denied the allegations. Both parties were advised to stay away from each other.

FRAUD

A Wilmette resident reported at 5:59 p.m. June 14, that while leaving a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard, they were approached by two people standing outside with clipboards asking for donations. They agreed to a $10 dollar donation and inserted their credit card into their machine. The resident then went to their vehicle and realized they were charged $2,400 instead. They looked for the two, but they were gone. They contacted their bank and any potential financial loss was stopped.

MINOR IN POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL

A resident of the 1600 block of Constitution Drive was issued two local ordinance tickets at 11:10 p.m. June 14, for minor in possession of alcohol and possession of a false identification card, after they were trying to get into a neighbor's house, thinking it was their own house. They also had a fake ID in their possession. They admitted to drinking alcohol and having the fake ID.
