Business Owner Reports Over $800K Losses From Fraudulent Activity: Glenview Police Blotter

The money was subtracted from their business accounts through wire transfers last month.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Kenneth Pierini, 77, of the 1500 block of Belle Haven Drive, Grayslake, is accused of driving under the influence, speeding after a traffic stop investigation, and was arrested at 2:08 p.m. Jan. 3, in the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 27.

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

Carlene Clarke, 55, of the 2000 block of Church Street, Evanston, is accused of having no valid driver's license, no insurance, a suspended registration for non-insurance, and was arrested at 2:02 a.m. Jan. 5, following a traffic stop. She was released and a court date of Feb. 10 was assigned.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

George Kouriabalis, 65, of the 1000 block of Bette Lane, is accused of driving on a suspended license, no seatbelt, expired registration, registration suspended, no insurance, and was arrested at 2:40 p.m. Dec. 29, in the 1800 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was released and assigned a court date of Jan. 27.

FAILURE TO APPEAR

Anthony Carter, 60, of the 600 block of W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, had a warrant out of DuPage County for failure to appear, and was arrested. He was processed and released.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

Paul Bright, 66, of the 1600 block of Waukegan Road, is accused of failure to remain at the scene of a vehicle damage accident, failure to report an accident, failure to yield turning left, and was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Dec. 30. He was released following his arrest.

INCIDENTS

FRAUD

A Pickwick Avenue resident reported at 5:27 p.m. Jan. 2, fraudulent activity on their business bank account. They reported several wire transfers on Dec. 22. Total loss is $848,684.35.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

  • A resident of the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported that between Jan. 2 and Jan. 4, the catalytic converter from their vehicle was stolen. Total loss is $200.
  • A resident of the 4100 block of Miller Drive called police at 7:17 a.m. Jan. 6, to report someone was seen on video approaching the vehicle, but was unable to gain access.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Michigan resident reported on Jan. 5 being involved in a driving altercation the day before in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. They said an unknown male white driver driving a white pickup followed them into the parking lot, then approached the car and hit the window. The driver yelled slurs at them and struck the hood with an open hand.
