Charges Dropped Against Glenview Nurse Accused of Stealing $255K from Employer

Her lawyer said the 89-year-old man willingly gave her the money.

Prosecutors have dropped charges against a Glenview woman working as a private nurse who was accused of stealing $255,000 from her 89-year-old employer, according to an article in the Daily Herald.

Lincolnshire police arrested Teresa A. Lau, then 44, last year. She was charged with theft over $100,000 and financial exploitation of an elderly person.

But charges were dropped after additional witness interviews showed that the man willingly gave Lau the money, the Herald story says. The transaction was reported by the man’s son.
