  • Dreonnia King Shellie, 24, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while revoked license, improper lane usage, speeding 21-25 mph above the limit, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 1:57 a.m. Oct. 18, in the 1700 block of Waukegan Road. She was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 13.
  • Eugene Light, 43, of the 1000 block of Skokie Boulevard, Northbrook, is accused of DUI drugs, changing lanes without a signal, and was arrested at 9:28 p.m. Oct. 19, in the 2200 block of Waukegan Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 14.

RETAIL THEFT

Darrensha Richardson, 36, of the 1900 block of St. Louis Street, Chicago, is accused of felony retail theft over $300, felony retail theft for prior convictions, and was arrested at 2:13 p.m. Oct. 18.

FAILURE TO APPEAR
Michael Cody, 44, of the 900 block of Church Street, Northbrook, had a warrant out of Cook County for failure to appear, and was arrested at 4:52 p.m. Oct. 16.

INCIDENTS

TRESPASSING

The owner of a property in the 600 block of Waukegan Road reported at 9:50 p.m. Oct. 14, two people had entered the property against the No Trespassing signs and left a boat trailer near the dumpster. The incident was captured on surveillance video. The pair were identified and issued Village Ordinance citations for trespassing. They were advised to remove the trailer.

BATTERY

  • An employee of a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 7:47 a.m. Oct. 15, a man had argued with them at the register and punched their arm. They took a cigar from the counter and left without paying for the item, entering a vehicle in the lot. The man is described as black, in his 20s, 6-foot, medium build. He was with a black woman, in her 20s, 5-foot-6, medium build.
  • A Deerfield resident reported at 4:37 p.m. Oct. 16, being in line at a business in the 2100 block of Willow Road, when another shopper went around them and used the checkout kiosk. They argued with the shopper and went outside to call 911. While outside, the shopper approached them and said they wanted to talk to 911 too. The caller refused to give them the phone, so the shopper put their arm around them and said OK, then entered a vehicle in the lot. The caller said the shopper did not hurt them, but they wanted them spoken to about the unwanted touching.

RETAIL THEFT

Employees for a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 3:01 p.m. Oct. 15, a man had taken six packs of GFCI outlets and put them in his pocket. Loss prevention approached the man, who ran out of the store without paying for the merchandise. The man, described as white with darker skin, salt and pepper hair, 170 pounds, thin build, wearing a blue jacket and gray pants. Total loss is $402.66.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

A resident reported on Oct. 16 that during the overnight hours, the catalytic converter was stolen from two of his vehicles parked overnight in a lot in the 4200 block of Commercial Way. Total loss is $10,000.

FRAUD

Employees for a business in the 2400 block of Chestnut Avenue reported at 9:47 a.m. Oct. 17, someone was able to bypass their security measures for their online payments and obtained credit card information. The suspect then attempted to use around 111,000 cards, but was denied. The business was still charged around $.65 cents for each transaction. The total amount charged was $88,347.68.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION

A business in the 3600 block of West Lake Avenue was shooting off several fireworks for an event in the 3600 block of West Lake Avenue. Officers spoke with employees about the incident. They shut the
fireworks down and were given a verbal warning for the fireworks.

UNWANTED PERSON
Employees of a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone was intoxicated and arguing with front desk employees after they lost their key. The person left after asking the clerk to step outside and was later located by officers. A family member picked them up and brought them home.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A resident in the 1200 block of Central Road reported at 11:15 a.m. Oct. 19, three unknown white males in a black sedan damaged several large Halloween decorations in their yard on the previous day. Total loss is $2,600.
