'Dangerous Dog' Bites Other Canine, Owner: Glenview Police Blotter

The complainant and their dog both sustained several injuries due to the attack, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police.   • Brendan Wolf, 23, of the 100 block of Parkview Road, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, using unsafe tires, and was arrested at 1:08 a.m. Sept. 20, following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Maple Street. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 30.
  • Rachel Reinersman, 38, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, is accused of DUI alcohol, disobeying a traffic control light, illegal transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 11:25 p.m. Sept. 20, in the 1800 block of Lehigh Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 27.
  • Saurabh Shah, 38, of the 1000 block of Kingsport Drive, Wheeling, is accused of DUI alcohol, having a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more speeding 21 to 25 mph over the limit, and was arrested at 1:28 a.m. Sept. 19, in the 400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 10.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Ismoilkhozha Saidazimov, 20, of the 4500 block of Nottingham Avenue, Norridge, is accused of driving with a suspended license, having a suspended registration, and was arrested at 7:31 p.m. Sept. 18, in the 3200 block of Sanders Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 10.

INCIDENTS

HARASSMENT THROUGH ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

Two employees of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard reported receiving harassing text messages from an unknown person, whom they believe to be associated with a coworker. Police said complaints will be signed if communication continues.

THEFT UNDER $500

A customer of a business in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 5:50 p.m. Sept. 16, using the ATM and leaving $120 at the machine. They originally accused the clerk of taking the money, but surveillance footage shows another customer took the money and used it to make a purchase.

  • A Prairie Street resident called police at 12:29 p.m. Sept. 17, to report finding an unauthorized charge on their credit card for Norton security for $154.05. They Googled a phone number for Norton and contacted what they believed to be the company. The person who spoke on the phone said they would reimburse them for the charge and had convinced the resident to give them remote access to their computer. The person told the resident they accidentally transferred $15,000 to their account and asked them to withdraw the money from their account. The resident realized it was a scam and had the bank close their accounts. They contacted the credit card company about the initial fraudulent charge.
  • A resident of the 1600 block of Greenwood Road reported that between 3 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Sept. 20, their electric scooter, valued at $850, had been stolen from the front yard.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

  • A resident of the 2200 block of Central Road called police at 3:02 p.m. Sept. 17, to report seeing a male on surveillance walking around the residence. Officers spoke with the male, who said he saw an ad online for the residence to rent. The male said he communicated via text message with someone claiming to be the owner, so he went to the residence to look at it. The homeowner said they did not have the house listed for rent.
  • An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Capital Drive reported at 11:13 a.m. Sept. 19, that a resident of the 1800 block of Chestnut Avenue was shooting their pellet gun at the back delivery door. The resident told police they were just practicing and did not think anyone was there.
  • A resident of the 1300 block of Elizabeth Lane reported that at 1:49 a.m. Sept. 20, they saw an unknown man, described as white, 30 to 40 years old, walking near the home and then stumbling into the house. Around two hours later, the same man was seen walking in their backyard and appeared to be searching for something on the ground with his phone flashlight.

IMPERSONATING AN OFFICER

Police received a report at 8 a.m. Sept. 18, that a motorcycle rider at West Lake Avenue and Landwehr Road was approached by a male who flashed a five-point badge. The male made a comment about the motorcycle driver's driving, then entered a vehicle and left the scene. Officers identified the male and spoke with them about the incident. The male said the motorcycle's driving scared him, and he flashed his private investigator badge in hopes their driving improved.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Palatine resident reported at 11:17 a.m. Sept. 18, someone had used their social security number to open a bank account and try to cash a $60,000 check, which was unsuccessful. The account was opened at a bank in the 2000 block of Willow Road.

BATTERY

A Florida resident reported at 10:44 a.m. Sept. 19, that their friend had punched them in the thigh while they were driving. The friend did not like how the driver drove their vehicle. No injuries and no complaints to be signed.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • An employee for a business in the 2000 block of Lehigh Avenue reported at 2:24 p.m. Sept. 19, someone had put a sign at the business with a pig on it. The employee was alarmed and disturbed by this sign and would like to sign complaints.
  • A resident of the 1100 block of Castle Drive reported at 3:29 p.m. Sept. 22, someone had created a fake Instagram account and posted a photo of them wearing a swimsuit when they were a juvenile. The resident would like the Instagram page removed.

TRESPASS WARNING

An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 7:17 p.m. Sept. 19, a Northfield resident was very upset about their business account and refused to leave the store until it was resolved. Employees told them they could not resolve the account and wanted them given a trespass warning. Police said the customer understood the warning and left the store.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

A resident reported at 7:47 p.m. Sept. 19, that someone had told them they would find and kill them after they exchanged messages about hiring the person for contractor work. Officers tried to call the unknown person's number, but the number was out of service

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

A resident of the 1200 block of Hutchings Avenue reported at 2:45 p.m. Sept. 21, seeing an unknown man — described as Hispanic, between 5-foot-6 and 6-foot, between 30 and 40 years old, wearing a white shirt and a black backpack — looking up driveways. The resident believes the man may be associated with a stolen bicycle last week and wanted the incident documented.

ANIMAL BITE

A Niles resident reported at 12:36 p.m. Sept. 22, that their dog had been attacked by another dog while they were walking in the 2700 block of Virginia Lane. The complainant and their dog both sustained several injuries due to the attack. The owner of the offending dog was cited under Glenview Village Ordinance for dangerous dog.
