GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

ARRESTS

HOME REPAIR FRAUD

Adriel Hernandez, 24, of the 1700 block of N. Lafox Street, South Elgin, is accused of home repair fraud, and was arrested at 1:51 p.m. July 2. The arrest followed an investigation into a complaint on Oct. 29, 2024, in the 200 block of Montgomery Lane. Hernandez was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 20.

VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION

Odisho Kako, 43, of the 8500 block of Waukegan Road, Morton Grove, is accused of violating an order of protection, and was arrested at 5:54 a.m. July 2, at the Glenview Police Department. The arrest stemmed from an incident reported on June 30. Kako was held pending a conditions hearing.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO STATE SUPPORTED PROPERTY

Jose Bodon, 25, of the 10400 block of Carol Court, Rosemont, is accused of criminal trespass to state supported property, obstruction of identification, and was arrested at 3:35 a.m. July 1, after he was located inside the Metra North train station, 2301 Lehigh Ave., after hours. Bodon also had four active warrants out of Dupage County, Cook County, and Lake County. Bodon was taken to the Skokie Court House without incident.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Kovoor Geroge, 65, of the 10400 block of Dearlove Road, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 5:51 a.m. July 1, after police found him inside his car near the 4100 block of Cove Lane. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 5.

TRAFFIC CRASH HIT AND RUN

Charles Riley, 70, of the 700 block of Ironwood Drive, Mount Prospect, is accused of leaving the scene of a crash, failure to give notice of a crash, failure to yield at an intersection, and was arrested at 10:30 a.m. July 1, following a traffic crash investigation. He was released and assigned a court date of July 23.

FAILURE TO APPEAR

Johnny Benitez, 33, of the 900 block of 9th Street, Northfield, had a failure to appear warrant for aggravated driving under the influence out of Cook County, and was arrested at 3:24 p.m. June 29.

INCIDENTS

AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT

A resident in the 600 block of Waukegan Road reported at 7:55 p.m. June 24, their WIFI service and stopped working. They contacted the company and they said the service had been moved to a different account location in Lakewood. The social security number used on the account is the residents. Their wallet was lost or stolen on May 8, which contained their social security card. The company will cancel the other service.

FRAUD

Employees for a business that uses a PO box in Glenview reported at 11:32 a.m. June 25, that they had been notified by their bank that five checks had been flagged as fraudulent before they were cashed. They had the company information, but were not checks they use. The checks had been made out to someone in Fort Worth, Texas.

THEFT

  • A Central Road resident reported at 2:16 p.m. June 25, receiving an email saying they owed Paypal $600. They called the number on the email and spoke with someone who said they would reimburse them the $600. Then the person said they accidentally sent $60,000 and asked them to wire back $59,000 due to the error. The resident completed an international wire for the $59,000 and afterward realized it was a scam. They tried to freeze the account, but the transaction had been completed.
  • An employee of a business in the 0-100 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview, reported at 4:15 p.m. June 28, that while working at an event in the store, her cell phone was stolen. Her cellphone case contained her wallet, a credit card, and her driver's license. She was able to track her phone to a business in Niles, and was able to retrieve the phone, without the case and other items, from a kiosk. A surveillance video from the store is pending.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

Police responded to a business alarm at 4:14 a.m. June 26, in the 200 block of Waukegan Road. A shattered glass window was located in the rear of the building on the garage door. Two people had been seen on video entering the building at 4:02 a.m. and leaving at 4:04 a.m. It was unknown what was taken at the time of the report.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A resident in the 1900 block of Wyndham Circle, Glenview, reported at 5:51 a.m. June 27, their car was missing from the driveway. Using his vehicle's app, he saw it was stolen at approximately 4:10 a.m. and was stopped in South Bend, Indiana. South Bend, Indiana Police were contacted, and they located the vehicle unoccupied. The vehicle was towed back to the Glenview Police Department for processing.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A resident of the 400 block of Ferndale Road, Glenview, reported on June 27 that at some time overnight, someone had entered two of her vehicles and removed a bag from Nordstrom containing approximately $300 in men's clothing that was recently purchased. She believed the vehicles were locked but found both driver side doors opened in the morning.
  • A resident in the 700 block of Greenacres Lane, Glenview, called police to report that at 1:14 a.m. June 27, three people had entered his two vehicles and removed his wallet with credit cards, and approximately $100 in cash. The incident was captured on security camera and the suspects appeared to be wearing hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants, dark shoes, and masks. They left in an unknown dark sedan.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A resident of the 2200 block of Silverpine Drive, Glenview, reported at 12:49 p.m. June 27, that his home had been egged overnight by a former friend of his daughter. The victim explained the person and his daughter used to be friends, and they had access to each other’s information on the app Life360. When they suspected this person of the egging, his daughter checked the app, they tracked this person from her home to a nearby grocery store, to the victim’s home, then to the suspect’s home. Officers spoke to the person, who admitted to egging the home and was issued a village ordinance citation for disorderly conduct.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive, Northbrook, reported that between June 23 and June 24, someone had entered his vehicle parked in the building’s garage and took his golf clubs and bag.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

Police responded to Glenbrook Hospital, 2100 Pfingsten Road, on June 30 for an unwanted person. Hospital staff reported someone had been in the waiting room and became frustrated with the wait. He threw items in the room, damaging property. The person was escorted outside. The person remained quiet during police interaction and made no statement.

RETAIL THEFT

A store manager at Dick's Sporting Goods, 1900 block of Tower Drive, reported at 3:04 p.m. June 30, two people had entered the store and stole several items of clothing. The two were described as black males with hoodies (one gray and one red). A witness said that the two fled the area in a white Hyundai Elentra. Total loss is approximately $1,200.

BATTERY

An employee at Glenbrook Liquors, 3554 Milwaukee Ave., reported at 5 p.m. June 30, being pushed by a person inside the store. The person was moderately intoxicated and denied pushing the employee. The person was given a trespass warning from Glenbrook Liquors.
