Glenview Chamber Celebrates Business, Businessperson Of The Year

GLENVIEW, IL — Selecting a business and businessperson of the year is no easy task in an exceptional community like Glenview. Nonetheless, the Glenview Chamber of Commerce did just that recently in choosing Nolan & Freund Dental Professionals (Business of the Year) and Frank Sclavenitis (Businessperson).

"We had several nominations and our executive board had a difficult time selecting the winners," Meghan Kearney, executive director of the Chamber, tells Patch. "As with previous winners, these local leaders are continuously contributing to the good of the Glenview community and beyond. They are true community servants, spending their time, energy and efforts making Glenview a better place to work and live."

The recipients were honored at the Chamber's Business After Hours and Awards event on Jan. 8 at the Renaissance Chicago Glenview Hotel Suites. The event was sponsored by Busey Bank. Kearney said over 100 local leaders and elected officials were in attendance.

Nolan & Freund Dental Professionals, 3633 W. Lake Ave., have been in business in Glenview for more than 60 years. According to the Chamber, the owners are both residents and active participants in several not-for-profits. One such organization is the Glenview Park Foundation, where they help organize its largest fundraiser, the Firecracker Golf Outing. They're also involved with the League of Very Ordinary Gentlemen, which provides scholarships and equipment to Glenview families who can't afford to put their children through sports and music programs.

The business sponsors the Glenview Chamber's annual "Leadership Glenview" program, which the Chamber says "paves the way for 20 local leaders to get fully immersed in the many facets of what makes Glenview the place we love to live and work."

Sclavenitis, of American Solutions for Business, is an active member of the Chamber's board. He is also a longtime member of the Ambassador and Holiday in the Park & Parade committees.

Sclavenitis supports numerous organizations in town. According to the Chamber, "he is always involved with making Glenview and its people his No. 1 priority," whether it be his weekly volunteer work at the Farmer's Market, his participation in helping organize the Holiday Parade, or his consistent attendance at Kiwanis meetings.

"The awards not only honors the achievements and contributions of businesses and entrepreneurs but also enhances their visibility and reputation within the community," Kearney said. "These awards can serve as powerful endorsements and further creating customer trust and loyalty."
