Glenview Community Ice Center Grand Reopening Planned Sept. 12

On Sept. 12, the ice center will celebrate its grand reopening. The event will be lived streamed on the center's official Facebook page​.

GLENVIEW, IL—The Glenview Community Ice Center is getting ready to welcome residents back with a month-long celebration that includes virtual and in-person event.

On Sept. 12, the ice center will celebrate its grand reopening. The event will be lived streamed on the center’s official Facebook page.

“We have also put together an exciting line up of programs, classes and activities for all ages to enjoy,” Glenview officials said.

The “new and improved” ice center was made possibly by Glenview voters who supported a 2018 referendum to approve the renovation project. Construction on the project has lasted approximately 15 months.

New features of the ice center include:

  • 200’ x 85’ Rink A with spectator seating for 550 and six adjacent locker rooms
  • Dryland Training Room with RapidShot and RapidHands machines, turf flooring, cardio and core fitness training equipment
  • Community Room with capacity for 100, hardwood flooring, ballet bars, mirrors, audio/visual capabilities and room divider
  • North Branch and Joe Donut – A full service restaurant with searing for 50 and a grab and go café
  • Great Hall with new fireplace sculpture (donated by the Glenview Park Foundation) and seating areas
