Glow In The Dark Golf Benefits Northfield Twp. Food Pantry

The second annual Glow Fore It golf event will be held on Saturday at Glenview Prairie Club with a four-person scramble played in the dark.

GLENVIEW, IL — Local golfers looking for an interesting challenge for a good cause will have the opportunity to test their skills — in the dark no less — while benefitting a local food pantry.

Wintrust Community Bank’s second annual Glow Fore It golf outing will take place on Saturday night with proceeds going to the Northfield Township Food Pantry. The glow-in-the-dark golf event will be held at Glenview Prairie Club with the fun beginning at 5 p.m., organizers said.

The event features nine holes of glow-in-the-dark golf beginning at 7 p.m. with teams competing in nine holes of a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. Prizes will be available for top performers with the top three teams claiming awards.

Dinner and drinks will begin at 5 p.m. before the shotgun start kicks off the golf competition at 7 p.m.

The event benefits the Northfield Township Food Pantry, which ensures that local residents who struggle with food insecurity have meals to eat. The pantry has had trouble recently keeping its shelves stocked due to inflation and difficulty sourcing food as well as the rising costs of food, organizers said.
