Gold Bar, Safe, Nearly $100K in Jewelry Taken in Various Home Burglaries in Glenview
In one of the burglaries, the thieves dragged a safe out of the house on carpets.

Residential Burglary
Someone burglarized a home in the 2900 block of Landwehr Road Oct. 4 by entering through the rear door. The bedrooms and office were ransacked, and a floor safe was dragged from the lower level office on carpets and removed through the front door. Missing items includ the safe, a $150,000 International Bank CD, a 13-ounce bar of gold, along with a purse and wallet. Loss is estimated at $165,000.

Officers responded to a residential alarm in the 3900 block of Charlie Ct. Oct. 1 and discovered the rear sliding door shattered and the home’s master bedroom rummaged through. Several watches and other jewelry worth $50,000 were stolen.
A home in the 3600 block of Winnetka Rd. was burglarized Oct. 1. The offender broke a glass window pane next to the rear sliding door, ransacked several bedrooms, and stole jewelry worth more than $40,000 from the master bedroom closet.

Someone burglarized a home in the 800 block of Surrey Ln. between 11 a.m. and noon Sept. 30 by breaking a glass pane on a rear sliding door. Bedrooms on the second floor were ransacked. The only items known missing are jewelry worth more than $1,000.
Attempted Residential Burglary
A resident of the 1000 block of Church Street reported hearing loud banging noises at a neighbor’s front door Oct. 3. A Hispanic man, 5’8” to 5’10”, 35-40 years old, with a medium build, olive complexion and a long nose, who was wearing blue jeans and a green windbreaker-type jacket with a hood was seen running north on Church towards Prairie. The sidelight window for the front door of the home had been shattered and pry marks were visible on the lock side door jam. Damage estimated at $100.
