Green Infrastructure Bike Tour Planned For Glenview
The nine-mile round trip bicycle tour is being organized by the Village of Glenview and the Environment and Natural Resources Commission.
GLENVIEW, IL — The West Fork of the Chicago River's North Branch is Glenview's largest watershed. With its annual Green Infrastructure Bike Tour, the Village of Glenview and the Environment and Natural Resources Commission are looking to highlight where naturalized stabilization and other innovative green infrastructure practices are helping improve water quality at the West Fork.
The nine-mile round trip bicycle ride is planned for 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24. Participants will meet at the river in Downtown Glenview (just west of Jimmy Johns, by the riverwalk), according to organizers.
Stops on the route include the West Fork Riverwalk, Techny Basin and Gallery Park. Participants must wear a helmet and should bring plenty of water. Register by emailing Natural Resources Manager Robyn Flakne at rflakne@glenview.il.us.
