Harlem and Henley Construction Delayed One Day

The road work that was supposed to happen Monday and Tuesday will now be done Tuesday and Wednesday.

Because of heavy rains overnight, the planned construction at the intersection of Henley Street and Harlem Avenue has been pushed back a day.

The work to replace stormwater infrastructure that dates back to the 1940s involves installing 3,160 linear feet of new, larger storm sewers on portions of Dewes, Elm and Henley streets and establishing a new stormwater detention basin, the Village of Glenview explained in a memo.

he intersection of Harlem Avenue and Henley Street will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, and Wednesday, August 13. It will be open to traffic before and after construction hours each day. Motorists are urged to use Shermer Road to the east. Here’s a detour map.
