Identity Thief Obtains, Defaults on $350K in Mortgages

Also, $900 worth of power tools were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

$350,000 in fraudulent, defaulted loans

A resident reported Aug. 7 that someone used their identity to obtain three mortgages which were defaulted on. They suspect a mortgage broker they used previously. The total defaulted on was over $350,000.

Telephone Harassment

An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported an ongoing problem of harassing phone calls to employees from a previous customer. The customer was advised by officers to stop making calls and stay off of the property.

Burglary-Attempt

A resident of the 1000 block of Linden Ln. reported sometime between July 20 and Aug. 7 someone damaged a basement window screen in an attempt to unsuccessfully gain entry to the residence.

Burglary from Vehicle

A resident of the 200 block of Greenfield Drive reported sometime overnight Aug. 8 someone burglarized their vehicle while it was parked unlocked in their driveway and stole numerous power tools valued at $900.

Burglary (Motor Vehicle)

A resident of the 2300 block of Dewes St. reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle overnight Aug. 10 while it was parked in their driveway and stole $20 worth of change from the middle console.

Harassment by Telephone

An employee of a business in the 1500 block of Greenwood Rd. reported Aug. 10 that the family member of a client called several times harassing an employee. The suspect has been warned in the past not to call or show up at the business.
