Man Damages Toilets, Holding Cells While In Custody: Glenview Police Blotter

The Glenview resident had been arrested for another incident that had occurred in March, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Miranda Matias, 21, of the 600 block of N. Homan, Chicago, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 8:19 p.m. Aug. 19, at the Glenview police station. The charge stemmed from an investigation into an incident that occurred on Feb. 1. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 8.

Guadalupe Marquez-Sanchez, 39, of the 9000 block of N. Churchill Circle, Niles, is accused of driving under the influence, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 8:04 p.m. Aug. 17, in the 900 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 10.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Juan Nino, 26, of the 1100 block of N. Pulaski Road, Chicago, is accused of driving while license suspended, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 9:47 a.m. Aug. 13, following a traffic crash investigation in the 1800 block of Pfingsten Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 26.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED PROPERTY

Nestor Bahena-Garcia, 37, of the 50 block of S. Branch Road, Glenview, was arrested at 2:45 p.m. Aug. 10, following an incident into an incident that had occurred on March 28. While in custody, police said he damaged two toilets and two holding cells. Bahena-Garcia was charged with criminal damage to government supported property. He was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 12.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT

Robin S. Ross, 43, of the 4300 block of West Lake Avenue, Glenview, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident, having a driver's license expired more than a year, and was arrested at 12:55 p.m. Aug. 12. The arrest following an investigation into a hit-and-run reported on Aug. 9 in the 1100 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 8.

INCIDENTS

TRESPASS WARNING

The owner of a property in the 2400 block of Dewes Street called police at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 12, to report a former tenant had been seen on the property looking into other residents' windows. They requested a trespass warning be given, but officers were unable to make contact with the former tenant.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

The owner of a business in the 800 block of Shermer Road reported at 11:12 a.m. Aug. 13, receiving two checks from a customer, both of which bounced. They spoke with the customer who agreed to come in person to pay the amount owed of $2,792.58, but they did not show up.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

  • An Admiral Court resident called police at 2:01 p.m. Aug. 13, to report receiving multiple calls from blocked numbers and a 313 area code where a male made unwanted sexual comments. Officers attempted the number, but it said it was no longer in service.
  • A resident of the 1700 block of Magnolia Street reported at 6:55 p.m. Aug. 15, someone had been calling their landline phone number numerous times since July 2025 and does not speak. The resident also said that they have been getting pizza and sandwich orders from several businesses that they did not order.

DISPUTE

Employees of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 7:21 p.m. Aug. 13, someone was causing numerous noise complaints. The person argued with employees after they asked them to leave over getting a refund. The business agreed to refund the person and they left the property, getting a trespass warning not to return.

BATTERY

  • An employee of a business in the 4300 block of Di Paolo Court reported at 7:18 a.m. Aug. 14, that they had been chest bumped by another employee after wanting to put in their notice to quit. The other employee denied the battery.
  • A resident of the 1600 block of Greenwood Road called police at 6:08 p.m. Aug. 18, being struck by a neighbor after they were upset that the resident was staring at them. The two engaged in a physical altercation, before separating. No complaints to be signed. Both parties had minor injuries.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Heatherfield Lane resident reported at 2:55 p.m. Aug. 14, someone had opened up an AT&T account in their name without permission. The person purchased an iPhone 16 valued at $1,399.

RETAIL THEFT

The loss prevention agents for a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported at 3:46 p.m. Aug. 14, that two people had taken four Styrofoam coolers, then went to the liquor section and filled them with bottles of tequila. They passed the last point of purchase and left the store without paying. Total loss is $896.18.

HARASSMENT

A resident in the 2000 block of Balmoral Avenue reported at 9:02 p.m. Aug. 14, receiving a food order from Dominos and Pizza Hut that they did not order in the amount of $48.67. The order had been placed by a phone number used in previous harassment reports stemming from an online incident.

ASSIST OTHER AGENCY

A Nebraska police department contacted Glenview police at 3:40 a.m. Aug. 15, to report a stolen vehicle was tracking to the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Officers located the vehicle in a lot and the registered owner requested it to be towed.

UNWANTED PERSON

An employee of a business in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road called police at 10:07 a.m. Aug. 15, to report someone was inside the grocery store being belligerent and asking customers for a lighter. They were asked to leave the store and they complied. Officers located the person and gave them a trespass warning not to return.

FRAUD

A resident in the 300 block of Washington Street reported at 4:12 p.m. Aug. 15, that they were approached by three unknown people at a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. The suspects asked for a donation for their friend’s funeral, who was killed in Chicago. The resident gave them their credit card to charge $10, after they refused the cash they tried to give. The resident later learned that their credit card was charged twice for a total of $4,800.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Wheeling resident reported at 3:41 p.m. Aug. 15, someone had been yelling after they cut them off in traffic. The resident said the person told them that they would shoot them if they were a man. The resident began crying, and the suspect apologized and told them that they did not mean to scare them.

ASSAULT

A Mount Prospect resident reported at 6 p.m. Aug. 18, driving on East Lake Avenue from Sunset Ridge, when a white vehicle pulled alongside them and yelled at them for letting a vehicle turn. At Waukegan Road, the driver then rolled the window down again and threatened to shoot them with a gun while making unknown gestures with their hands.
