New Restaurant Showcases '3 Cuisines Under One Roof' In Glenview

The Clove Indian and Nepali Cuisine, which recently opened on Waukegan Road, features authentic Indian, Nepali, and Indo-Chinese dishes

GLENVIEW, IL — If you can't quite decide what to eat for dinner, The Clove Indian and Nepali Cuisine has you covered with some delicious options. The restaurant, which recently opened at 1827 Waukegan Road, features the "rich tastes" of Indian, Nepali and Indo-Chinese food on its extensive menu.

"The Clove Indian and Nepali Cuisine is a restaurant that brings people together," Laura Svendsen, membership and events manager for the Glenview Chamber of Commerce, tells Patch.

The Clove's grand opening was last Friday, and the Chamber held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the space. Owner Ramakant Kharel, a Glenview resident for the past decade, brings more than 30 years of experience in the restaurant world.

"Thank you to the Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Glenview, and the entire Glenview and surrounding communities for coming out to our grand opening and making it such a special day for us," Kharel said at the event. "We truly believe that we grow when we lift up our community, and through The Clove, our vision is to bring people together, support one another, and champion small businesses."

The Clove promises to its customers that "no two visits are the same" with a menu changing daily made up of "rich dishes from India, cozy flavors from Nepal, and spicy Indo-Chinese fusions. Each meal is cooked with care, using real spices and simple recipes that taste like home."

Each month, the restaurant will host "a fun and unique" cooking event, featuring chefs from new restaurants and rising culinary talents showcasing their dishes. Guests will have a chance to enjoy a five-course tasting menu and two drinks, all while learning the inspiration behind each bite, according to The Clove's website.

In addition, The Clove will hold themed entertainment nights, including live music, comedy shows, belly dancing, karaoke and cultural performances.

The Clove is open 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
