Person Enters Glenview Home While Resident Sleeping
A sliding door was later found pried open.

Person enters home while resident sleeping
A resident of the 3500 block of Winnetka Rd. reported being awoken at 9 p.m. July 30 by someone opening their bedroom door. They thought their son came home from school so they called to him. After calling their son’s name, the person immediately left the bedroom. The resident exited their bedroom and saw a few lights in the home had been turned on so they called for their son again. They received no response so they called 911. A rear sliding door to the home was pried open and appears to be the entry and exit point.

Disorderly Conduct
A resident of the 4600 block of Laurel Ave. reported someone shattered a glass whiskey bottle on their driveway at 9:30 p.m. July 31. No damage occurred.

Identity Theft
A resident reported someone used their credit card to purchase items at two Glenview stores on June 26 and July 4 for a total of about $200. The resident still has the credit card.
Catalytic converter thefts
A citizen reported someone stole their catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1700 block of East Lake Ave. sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Aug. 1. The estimated loss is $1,500.

Residential Burglary
A burglary was discovered in the 1600 block of Fielding Aug. 1. A rear glass sliding door was found open and the front door had been kicked in. Several cabinets, closets and dresser drawers were ransacked. It is unknown what was taken.
Criminal Defacement
Someone criminally defaced a stop sign at Bellwood and Greenwood by using a black marker to draw two pitchforks and an upside down crown on the sign.
Theft
An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Lehigh Ave. reported someone stole their cellphone, worth $500, from the hostess podium at the front of the restaurant Aug. 3. The employee walked to the back of the restaurant to check their schedule and when they returned they discovered their cell phone missing.
Theft
An employee of a construction company reported between 8 p.m. July 31 and 7 a.m. Aug. 1 someone stole $2,500 worth of copper fittings from a construction site in the 2500 block of Waterview Dr.
Suspicious Incident
A resident reported receiving a suspicious voicemail message on their home phone Aug. 1. A man identified himself as an employee for the IRS and said the resident was being investigated for taxes and a warrant would be issued for their arrest. The resident did not call the number and stated they are current on all of their taxes.
