GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Monika Tiara, 47, of the 1000 block of Creekside Court, Wheeling, is accused of making an improper U-Turn on a roadway, leaving the scene of an accident, and was arrested at 2 a.m. Sept. 13, after a crash investigation at Willow Road and Interstate 294. She was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 10.

Ahsan Zaidi, 31, of the 6800 block of N. Lincoln Avenue, Lincolnwood, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 6:04 p.m. Sept. 8, following a well-being check in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road. He was released and assigned a court date of Sept. 26.

PROBATION VIOLATION

Terrell Decarlo Montaie, 43, of Detroit, Michigan, had a warrant out of West Virginia for a parole violation, and was arrested at 11:07 a.m. Sept. 9, in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was taken to the Cook County Sheriff's Department pending extradition.

INCIDENTS

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

While repairing an ATM in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road at 10:28 a.m. Sept. 10, a technician found a device on the card reader. Officers took possession of the device and were unable to locate any cameras that could be associated with it.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Harrison Street resident reported at 5:19 p.m. Sept. 11, someone had opened a student loan for $30,760.21.

THEFT

  • A resident reported at 11:04 a.m. Sept. 12, that someone had stolen a port-a-potty from the 1100 block of Waukegan Road. Total loss is $400.
  • A Tuscany Court resident reported at 11:59 a.m. Sept. 15, previously buying cars from someone who worked for a dealership in Downers Grove. They tried to buy another car from them and gave them $5,750 in November 2024, but the person made repeated excuses why they could not provide the car. The resident discovered the person no longer works for the dealership and that they were terminated for stealing money from the company.

AUTO BURGLARY

A Bellwood resident reported at 3:32 p.m. Sept. 12, that someone had stolen a front idler roller and track tensioner off a Bobcat at the job site at Shermer Road and Glenview Road. The theft occurred sometime overnight. Total loss is $3,600.

BATTERY

A Chicago resident reported at 6:01 p.m. Sept. 13, having an argument with their business partner. The complainant said that the partner owes them $40,000. The partner said that they did not have the money and that the resident shoved them to the ground and the two wrestled. Officers questioned the resident again, and they stated that the partner pushed them first and caused a minor abrasion.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

Police located a smashed front window at 2:39 a.m. Sept. 14, at a business in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Ave. It appeared someone had gained access to the store and took an unknown amount of merchandise.

FLEEING/ELUDING POLICE

Police responded to the area of the 900 block of Greenwood at 3:17 a.m. Sept. 14, to assist the Cook County Sheriff's Office with a burglary in progress. Officers located a gray Chevy Silverado leaving the area at a high rate of speed, showing 67 in a 35-mph zone northbound Greenwood Road. The vehicle continued on West Lake, to Pfingsten, to Willow Road, and onto I-294, disregarding traffic control signals. The truck had a license plate that did not match the vehicle. An abandoned vehicle was later located in the 800 block of Revere Road, which had been stolen from the business on Greenwood Road.
