Theft, Battery, Stolen Catalytic Converters: Glenview Police Blotter
The Glenview Police Department handled a number of criminal complaints over the past week including forgery, trespassing, and other crimes.

GLENVIEW, IL — The Glenview Police Department handled a number of complaints over the past week ranging from theft, battery, burglary from a vehicle, fraud, and other criminal complaints.
Trespassing
Officers responded to a report at 1:44 p.m. on Sept. 27 at a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue that reported a customer causing a problem in the business. The business requested the customer be given a trespass notice to the business.

Officers responded to a call at 12:56 a.m. on Oct. 2 to a business in the 2700 block of Patriot Boulevard reported an angry customer. Officers spoke with the customer who was screaming, being disrespectful, and using profanity, police said. Officers gave the customer trespass notice to the business at the request of staff.
Officers responded to a call at 11:28 p.m. on October 3 at a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road that reported a belligerent customer. Officers gave the customer a trespass warning at the request of employees.

Theft
Officers responded to a Niles resident at 8:59 p.m. on Sept. 27 that reported their small red and black bag was stolen from a table while they were inside the Glenview Public Library.
Officers issued a citation for theft to a Chicago resident at 2:24 p.m. on Sept. 28 following the investigation of an incident reported on Aug. 20 at 4501 Concord Lane.
Battery
Officers responded to a report at 6:21 p.m. on Sept. 28 after a resident in the 1700 block of Jefferson Avenue reported being struck in the head by an acquaintance.
Burglary
Officers responded to an alarm at 3:26 a.m. on Sept. 29 at a business in the 2600 block of Shermer Road and found a shattered front glass door. The owner arrived but could not provide an account of what may have been stolen from the business.
Officers responded to a call at 5:02 a.m. on Sept. 29 when they located a shattered front glass door at a business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road, while on the scene of another burglary. Police said that a cash register was missing from the business.
Officers responded to a business at 5:11 a.m. on Sept. 29 when they were called to the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road on a report of a burglary. Police said that recorded video surveillance shows a silver four-door sedan parked in front of the business. Four men exited the sedan, threw an object through the glass front door, entered the business, and stole a cash register, police said.
Officers responded to a call at 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 3 when the owner of a business in the 4300 block of Regency Drive reported that sometime between Sept. 30 at 1800 hours and Oct. 1 an unknown person entered the business through a back door and stole tools, police said.
Forgery
Officers responded to a call at 3:21 p.m. on Sept. 29 when a resident in the 2300 block of Fielding Drive reported a check they mailed was stolen in the process of being mailed, made out to a different individual, and attempted to be cashed. The bank caught the fraudulent transaction and did not process it, police said.
Burglary from Vehicle
Officers responded to a call at 8:03 a.m. on Sept. 30, when a resident reported an unknown person entered their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and removed jewelry and cash.
Officers responded to a call at 10:54 a.m. on Sept. 30 when a Florida resident reported an unknown person that removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1900 block of Milwaukee Avenue, police said.
Officers responded to a call at 10:41 a.m. on Sept. 30 when a Niles resident reported an unknown offender removed the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Officers responded to a call at 8:07 a.m. when a resident in the 2800 block of Covert Lane reported that sometime in the overnight hours their parked, unlocked, vehicle was entered, and clothing items were stolen from inside the vehicle.
Fraud
Police responded to a call at 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 30 when a resident reported they were contacted through Facebook by a person and later sent the subject gift cards in exchange for a large sum of money. The resident determined it was a scam and called the police.
Unwanted Subject
Police responded to a call at 8:10 p.m. on Sept. 30 when a manager for a business in the 2100 block of Willow Road reported a customer entered the store and began yelling. The customer was given a trespass warning.
