Central Road Pedestrian Bridge: The pedestrian bridge that crosses the river on Central Parkway will be closed this fall as the Park District installs a new bridge. Work is set to begin on Aug. 4 and is expected to be completed by Sept. 23, weather permitting. Officials said the scope of work calls for the existing bridge to be removed. Then new concrete footings will be installed, and a new pre-fabricated bridge can be put in place. Next, the bridge concrete decking and approach sidewalks will be poured. The Park District will provide construction updates at glenviewparks.org/capital-projects.
