Led by Jailynn Rae Woods’ 15 points, Granite City shot efficiently from the field while limiting the Griffins to under 30 percent shooting, ending a nine-game skid in the series. 
• U.S. Attorney's Office announces results of 'Operation Safe Christmas' (riverbender.com) — A regional fugitive sweep called Operation Safe Christmas led to 63 arrests, including a Granite City man accused in a recent local police shooting. Granite City Police Department officers also served on the U.S. Marshals task force, which targeted violent offenders and drug crimes across several Illinois counties and into Atlanta, aiming to boost safety in communities like Granite City.
