1 Critically Injured, 2 Boys Hospitalized After ATV Rollover Crash

The ATV collided with a tree in Ingleside Monday evening.

LAKE COUNTY, IL β€” A 25-year-old woman is in critical condition and two boys β€” ages 7 and 11 years old β€” have been hospitalized with minor injuries after an ATV crashed into a tree and rolled over Monday evening in Ingleside.

The 2021 Can-Am Outlander G2 rolled on top of the two children during the collision in the 27000 block of Chris Larkin Road in Ingleside at about 5:35 p.m. on Monday, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Bystanders were able to quickly respond and get the children out from under the ATV.

The crash happened while the ATV was driving in circles in the yard, and the driver, a 25-year-old woman from Lubbock, Texas, crashed into the tree. The driver was knocked unconscious and sustained serious head trauma during the collision, according to police.

The children were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, and the woman was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation with the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
