6 Arrests Made During Holiday Traffic Detail In Lake County
The results are in from a recent traffic safety campaign in Lake County.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — The results are in from a recent traffic detail in Lake County.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office was out in full force between November 21 and December 2 as part of a statewide “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” mobilization, which is meant to reduce crashes. Enforcement efforts focused on seat‑belt use, speeding, distraction and alcohol‑ and drug‑impaired driving, including cannabis.
During the campaign, Sheriff’s Deputies logged 18 hours of dedicated enforcement time and made 22 traffic stops, which included the following:

- 2 DUI arrests
- 3 arrests for driving without a valid driver’s license
- 1 arrest for aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of cannabis
- 8 speeding citations
- 2 occupant restraint citations
- 1 electronic device use citations
- 11 other traffic citations
This campaign effort is supported by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and aligns with Illinois’ statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Click It or Ticket” and “It’s Not a Game” campaigns.
