Alcohol Believed To Be Factor In Crash That Killed 1, Injured 1: Cops
A 25-year-old man is dead and a 27-year-old man is in critical condition following the one-vehicle crash Sunday night near Antioch.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a Sunday night collision near Antioch that claimed the life of a 25-year-old Antioch man, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 10:45 p.m. when a 2022 Ford F-350 was headed west on North Avenue at Deep Lake Road in unincorporated Antioch at a high rate of speed and then went off the roadway, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived at the scene, the Antioch man was found dead on the ground near the crash scene, police said.

Authorities believe the vehicle hit several traffic signs, rolled over several times and then hit a tree. The driver got out of the vehicle and collapsed, police said.
A passenger in the vehicle, a 27-year-old Antioch man, was critically injured in the crash. He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, police said.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, and an autopsy is being scheduled. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
