Woman, 86, Killed In House Fire: Coroner
The fire broke out at a home near Spring Grove on Friday.
LAKE COUNTY, IL — An elderly woman died following a house fire near Spring Grove last week.
The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified the woman as Donna Lee Saleh, of Spring Grove, according to the coroner's office.
The house fire broke out in the 38300 block of North 6th Avenue in unincorporated Spring Grove at about 12 p.m. on Friday, police said.

One of the three people inside the home, a 52-year-old man, was able to get out of the home on his own. He tried to save two other women who were still inside, but was not able to.
Firefighter responded and rescued the 55-year-old woman and the 86-year-old woman fromthe home. The older woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary results from an autopsy show Saleh died from inhalation of products of combustion and thermal injuries. Toxicology testing, including carbon monoxide levels, are pending.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
