Alleghany Road to Close in Coming Weeks

Alleghany Road to close at Metra railroad tracks to repair existing railroad crossing.

Grayslake, IL – Metra announced this week that it will be closing Alleghany Road starting from Peterson Road to Illinois Route 120, according to the Lake County Division of Transportation press release. Metra will repair the existing railroad crossing. The road closure begins Friday, August 5 at 9 a.m. and will reopen Sunday, August 7 in the late afternoon according to the press release.

Local traffic will be allowed from Peterson Road to the Metra Railroad Crossing and from Illinois Route 120 to the Metra Railroad Crossing. The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic.

Detour Route: Peterson Road, to Illinois Route 83, to Illinois Route 137, to Illinois Route 120.
