Annual Arts Festival Set for Saturday

The Grayslake Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry will hold its 18th Annual Arts Festival Saturday on Center Street.

The show will feature more than 70 juried artists, along with a high school art exhibit, entertainment and food vendors.

"It's a good mix of artists," said Chamber Executive Director Karen Christian Smith. "We have a good range of prices."

From jewelry to watercolors and ceramics to lawn art, the festival has "some fun things," Smith said.

"You find a lot of people who come down and buy Father's Day gifts," she said. "Some of the lawn stuff is pretty cool."

The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

Here's a look at Saturday's schedule:

  • 10 a.m.: Medleys in Motion DJ
  • 11 a.m.: Dance Connection/The Spotlight Company
  • Noon-2 p.m.: Slam Funk
  • 2-3:30 p.m.: LambiK
  • 3:30-5 p.m.: Jeff Justman (acoustic folk-country)
There will also be sponsor booths, Smith said, and people can stop by the Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum to see the Abraham Lincoln exhibit from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The winners of the Heritage Center's photo contest will be announced at 3:30 p.m. on the Main Stage.
