Did Dealer Service Take This Guy's Car for a 96 MPH Joy Ride?
The dash-cam footage suggests so. The car was in for service at the Gurnee Dodge, and now police are investigating.

It was kind of like a scene from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” A car whose care was entrusted to a professional was taken on a faster than 90-mile-per-hour joy ride. Except the professional was a car repair shop and the car went flying through Lake County streets.
The video, recorded by the vehicle owner’s Garmin GPS device, shows the 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT hitting speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour on streets with a 50-mile-per-hour speed limit.
The Daily Herald is reporting that the car reached 82 miles per hour on Route 45 and then 96 miles per hour on Stearns School Road on Tuesday. Drew Hovorka of Gurnee brought his car into the shop for 100,000-mile service, which cost a little less than $2,000.
