LAKE COUNTY, IL — A family who owns marinas in Lake County is in hot water again — this time for forging documents.
Steven Wooden, 41, of the 41000 block of North Westlake Avenue in unincorporated Antioch, faces a felony forgery charge for allegations he provided forged documents to the Fox Waterway Agency in order to receive boat rental stickers for Anchor Pointe Marina for the 2024 Chain O’Lakes boating season, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The license for the marina, which is also known as AP Marine and is located at 42125 North 4th Avenue in unincorporated Antioch, has been suspended.

Last year, the Wooden family faced a suspension of renting privileges at The Boatyard, but continued to rent out boats, authorities said. With that in mind, police are making the public aware that Anchor Pointe Marina's license has been suspended, and those who may rent out boats from the marina could see their recreation time cut short.
Last year, boats rented from The Boatyard were impounded after those who'd rented the boats had already paid for them, according to a news release.
